Sep. 18th, 2008 08:28 pmI randomly picked up a volume of American Literary History this afternoon while procrastinating, and found an article about the Little Lord Fauntleroy phenomenon, and queering LLF, and latent homo-eroticism brought out in the original illustrations, and the velvet suits being a way for mothers to enact gender-play with their young sons.
On the one hand, I REALLY DID NOT WANT TO THINK ABOUT THIS RE: A BELOVED CHILDHOOD BOOK.
