(no subject)

I have a notebook where I've been writing stuff down for the last year or so -- references, thoughts, some Vergil I had to memorize -- and a couple of weeks ago, I started to sketch out some thoughts about the way that narrative history that is also exemplary has weird implications for how one is supposed to read it, and is it itself different from inset invocations of exempla that it might contain? And now I can't find my notebook. Woe.
