It was really awkward because I don't think it was based on religious conviction at all (I mean, he's Anglican, I thought Anglicans liked everybody these days), just on the fact that it's a Catholic university and he had a lot of colleagues he was mad at. Only one of whom was a particularly committed Catholic.
