Books that I shall read (and probably from the library)
The King in the Window by Adam Gopnik. Is liking the author's column in the New Yorker enough to warrant reading his children's fantasy novel, even if said fantasy novel got panned in the Times? I think so. At least I know that he can write.
Are Men Necessary? by Maureen Dowd. She's one of my favorite op-ed columnists, and, really, if I could point to a role model in the professional world, she'd probably be it. And I read an exerpt of this book, which was very good, if very troubling.
Jesus Land by Julia Scheeres. It justs sounds good. I've always been fascinated by Fundamentalism.
Goose Girl by Shannon Hale. People keep reccommending it to me.
Will of the Emperess by Tamora Pierce. I know. I thought they couldn't get worse after Magic Steps. I was wrong. Then I thought they couldn't get worse after the whole Circle Opens series. I was wrong. Then I thought they couldn't possibly get worse after Trickster's Choice. I was… wrong. Very wrong. So why do I keep going?
The Age of Conversation by Benedetta Craveri. Because salons are just cool.
*One Bullet Away: The Making of a Marine Officer by Nathaniel Flick. *Maybe. I don't know why I've suddenly become fixated on the military in Iraq. But his sounds sort of like the memoir of the Anti-Nathan Sassaman, so it might be good.

Dancing is really a lot of fun once you start getting good at it.
