Dr. Epperson died on Tuesday.

I realized today that I don't know how old Dr. E. was. He was at Tanglewood in 1941, and he played in the Indianapolis Symphony in '43 -- he would talk about driving from rehearsal to his factory shift. I remember he told me that it was during that WWII that "Mikado" pencils were changed to "Mirado" pencils.
He had so many good stories.
