A scorpion in my mother's bedroom tonight. No guesses as to which one of us got nearly hysterical.
But it's particularly upsetting, because we can't figure out where it came from. We've only had three (maybe four) scorpions in the 13 years we've lived here, and they all were explainable: my brother's friend had brought his sleeping bag here after a camping trip; bags of mulch left in the garage, the christmas tree. But this one… did it come out of the cupboard when we were looking at her old college texts this evening? (I DON'T WANT SCORPIONS IN THE CLOSETS OF ANY HOUSE I'M LIVING IN!)
We don't live on a block that has a scorpion problem. In elementary school, I knew people who found a dozen a week in their houses, but, fortunately, we haven't had a problem. If we start to, I am not coming home any more.

Date: 2006-05-30 02:21 am (UTC)We always got pretty hysterical whenever we found a scorpion in the house, and only slightly less so when we found them outside. Don't feel bad.
