Today was all right. The Heroic Age final went fine (I think), and I spent the afternoon baking shortbread. Four batches, to be precise. It was fun. We watched The Last Unicorn at the Latin party. It was… infinitely stupid but moderately amusing.

So what have I been doing? Well, I found a way to view the NPR clip of Measure for Measure, which included about four seconds of one of Angelo's anguished soliloquies. (Anguished being the highbrow version of angst, of course.) So I've been making icons. Because it isn't as though I don't have anything else to do with my time.

But now the question is: which one should I use? Becuase livejournal is stupid and won't give me unlimited pictures.

I love Measure for Measure! Use the "How, bribe me?" icon.

The Globe will be taking their production to NY for the next two weeks. It will be at St. Ann's Warehouse in Brooklyn. Try to get tickets.

I saw it in LA over Thanksgiving, actually, and became (re)obsessed. Unfortunately, I will be on the other side of the country when it's in NYC, and so won't be able to see it again.

I saw it while I was in London, last year. And I am going to see it again in Bklyn.

I'm also obsessed with the play. Poor, poor lovelorn and lecherous Angelo.

Poor Angelo, indeed. He is a bit of a tragic figure, really, I think: so principled, but so rigid that once he slips, he goes into free-fall.

kaskait--did you get to see it in Bklyn or did you have your ticket during the strike? I saw it on 12/23.

I had tickets for 12/28, so I just missed the strike. If the employees were still striking, I already had plans for a ride. You know I wasn't going to miss a chance to ogle Liam Brennan one more time.

I wonder if the strike hurt their attendance. It wouldn't have hurt their profits because refunds were out of the question.

It was still a great production. I wrote a little review on my lj page. I wasn't impressed by the male casting of female roles however. Shrug.

I've never seen a really effective Isabella, but I agree the Globe's Isabella certainly wasn't worth sacrificing a lifetime of devoted virtue for. I thought Mariana was much better.

I agree. The bribe one is the best, so you should use that one.
