I right this from my dorm room. We have ethernet, but the slight problem of all the outlets (including most of the electrical ones) being on the walls right next to the bed-steads. So I've shoved my mattress out of the way and am "computing" via my lap-top balanced on my trunk. We may have to remodel. Contrary to popular misconception in certain quarters (namely my own), my roommate is neither:

a) in the Conservatory nor
b) an ultra-sophisticate from Manhattan

She does, however, play piano and is very interested in music. And there is still the matter of those e-mails to be settled. But she seems very nice.

Unfortunately, the vaunted three-week seminar seems just as horrific as ever. And I picked up my books for Freshman Seminar:

Diderot
Robinson Crusoe
St Thomas Aquinas
MAnsfield Park
Galileo
Chinese Philosophy

among other things. Which all go to show that I am in no state to study here. None whatsoever. Take me home now!
